Leigh-Ann is a big believer and a problem solver. From a young age, LA has always believed that anything is possible if you have the right steps in place to get you there! And when those steps aren’t present– that’s an opportunity to problem solve them into place! Growing up, she developed a love of designing and making handmade albums that she couldn’t ignore and she realized that she wanted to own a small business, just like her Dad. As a hobby, she founded Freckled Nest, a company with a love for one of a kind, handcrafted innovation! Soon, it was clear that the hobby business would be her future and she embraced opportunities to grow and offer one of a kind custom products.

LA’s dedication to and support of quality craftsmanship, embracing personal style and the telling of your story soon led the company towards Blog Design, a market that was not yet tapped! Confident that her handmade style and approach could translate well into Blog Designs– she needed to learn graphic design and began teaching herself how, piece by piece. With credit to their creative approach, a love for the perfect union of color, font, and photography, and the companies personal style and warm heart, Freckled Nest has provided a sustainable career for Leigh-Ann and Kyla Roma and their Freckled Nest design family of 10.

Leigh-Ann enjoys quality time her boyfriend, taking her two pups to the dogpark and summers at the cabin with her big family. She authors the blog LA daily and loves to share about her love of Vintage, DIY Tutorials, Animals, Pop Culture & Fun Stories. She lights up talking about her twin nieces, gets giggly when she goes thrifting, gets carried away talking about tv and could eat a burrito every other day for the rest of her life.

Jill Munro began treasure hunting back in high school, and has been searching for, collecting and reviving vintage fashion and decor ever since. Her background in teaching and assisting children with developmental challenges has taught her patience and the ability to identify new ways of achieving your goals with the life tools you already have. Jill’s passion for aesthetics and building an environment began with retail positions in merchandising/display, and resulted in her own part-time indie business Lune Vintage, a mobile shop and online boutique which offers vintage fashion & in house designs.

Jill is a wife to her high school sweetheart and the mother of a 6 year old son and a baby daughter. She resides happily in Winnipeg, Canada and enjoys authoring the blog www.lunevintage.com. Jill loves Mexican food, thrift store shopping, sewing, dye work, road trips, big blue skies, endless forests and old school horror movies.

Kyla Roma

Kyla has been working behind the scenes to make beautiful things since before she could legally drive. She started working in theatrical stage management and lighting at the age of fifteen, where she honed her eye for detail and developed a preternatural love of planning. She transitioned into entertainment marketing where her motivation and confidence allowed her to work across music and television while working steadily as a freelance blogger, editor and photographer. As a result of her curiosity about what makes work fulfilling and good companies great, she also has specialized Human Resources Management training focusing on designing rewarding jobs, responsive companies, and teams that can take on anything.

In 2010 she started her transition to becoming full time self employed and was invited to join Freckled Nest as Co-Owner, Designer, WordPress Specialist, and Project Manager. Her ability to translate between the technical and creative, partnered with her insightful opinions have made her a valued resource to her blogging & business consulting clients.

Kyla manages her design & consulting clients, runs Freckled Nest with Leigh-Ann, and authors the creative lifestyle blog www.KylaRoma.com. She is a born teacher who enjoys helping others make positive, life changing steps toward personal happiness and success. Kyla is a loving wife and puppy mama to two bad little dogs named Ash and Mal. A proud Canadian Prairie lady, she enjoys vegetarian cooking, listening to old Rolling Stones records, researching her newest passions, vintage sci-fi movies, tattoos, knitting, sarcasm and snowstorms.
